Being Psychic

This is what my new room in my new apartment is going to look like, exactly. What you can't see is the overstuffed club chair, the walk-in closet, the Samsung LED-based UNB8500 series TV, the vanity desk and the 10 foot full length mirror.

The UCB

I have so much fun at the UCB, whether it's taking classes or seeing a show. I took a long break in between my 301 session that ended in July and my 401 that just started a few weeks ago, and while I'm glad I did, I'm so happy to be back feeling like I'm about to have a panic attack every Tuesday. All the students, teachers and performers I've met are so cool and nice(and of course funny) which makes me look forward to every class, and the shows are cheap, crazy and wonderful. And held in a basement. Which makes me feel like I'm part of a secret. If you can, I highly recommend taking a class or seeing a show at the Upright Citizen's Brigade.

LA Edition- In N Out

FOR REAL. Look at that mess! In N Out and Shake Shack are probably the only "restaurants" that I can go to hungry and have to wait a long time without getting depressed or homicidal. Because I KNOW that waiting is just part of the deal and I'm mentally and physically prepared, and honestly, the anticipation can be kind of fun. My mom and I hit up In N Out on our last night in LA and it was the perfect farewell- cheeseburgers and animal-style fries. And a large Diet Coke to wash it all down, of course!!

LA Edition- Rooftop Pools

While I think my travel companion and I will both agree that The London West Hollywood Hotel was lovely, it was not necessarily on the same level as our past hotel of choice in LA- The Beverly Hills Hotel. However, what The London lacked in pink and history it did make up for in rooftop pool-ness. There is something kind of nice of catching rays (beneath a layer of 50 SPF and a big umbrella) and taking a dip when you're up a few floors.

Goody Hair Clips

My hair is long enough that I don't really have "bad hair days"- no matter what I do my hair ends up looking the same way, which I think it pretty decent. But I have a real thing about hair getting into my face or eyes, I can't stand it. So when I start feeling like my front layers are planning a coup, I pin them back with a simple Goody clip from Duane Reade. I actually really like the look of them.

Power Rings

I'm not the most outrageously original person in terms of fashion. I've got the same pattern with all aspects of style and wearables- I find the things I like, rarely vary from them, and wear the hell out of them. I got this ring for Christmas my freshman year at NYU, a few weeks after my room had been ransacked and a bunch of my nice label designer stuff had been stolen. For awhile I was nervous to wear this ring in fear of it being stolen as well, but I got over it, and now I wear it pretty much every day. I like big simple rings, and wearing this one makes me feel ready for a fight.

Small Comforts

I got mad ill this weekend, but survived, thanks in no small part to these three liquids. I'm better now, yay!
